I went to my first acupuncture appointment in 2005. I'd been in pain for years and did not want to go on strong opioids or muscle relaxers to help relieve the pain. Things, such as massage and chiropractic, helped, but the pain came back quickly and it always returned! My martial arts instructor suggested acupuncture and gave me the name of a practitioner in my area. My first treatment, I was nervous! I had always hated needles and was very skeptical. After one treatment I was pain free for a week! Over time I became more comfortable with acupuncture, even using the treatment time as my nap time!
From that very first week, I dove into the science behind acupuncture researching, studying. My curiosity led to my pursuing a career in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I graduated with my Master's in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, OR in 2015. My husband and I moved to Goldendale, Wa in 2015 after friends introduced us to a region we utterly fell in love.
Currently, I am on the Board of the Goldendale Farmer's Market. I enjoy meeting people each Saturday during the summer and getting to discuss Medicine with everyone.
I have also joined Coalition for Preventing Abuse in Klitckitat County. I want to give back to the community and help improve people's lives. Also, because of this desire, I created group, or happy hour, clinics to be able to serve more people in the County for a lower cost.
In an effort to give my patients the best care possible, I began working on my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2018 and will complete it in August 2020. This training is stellar and enables me to contribute to the medical field as well. The downside is, I leave one weekend a month for this training (so be sure to check our events page for dates!).
I love my patients and look forward to serving the area for a long time. I hope to see you there soon!
